This box can be used in two distinctly different ways, for the right or left handed. You should try both methods of each and see which one works best for you.
Hold the slim striker in right hand and scrape it across the lip of the box, which is held stationary in the left hand. A light downward stroke will produce the "yelp" which is the most popular call used by most hunters. The "cluck" is made by rapidly striking the box lip with a short quick snapping stroke. Other turkey talk can be produced as the hunter becomes more familiar with the caller.
Remember: Different pressure and angles of the striker will produce higher or lower tones. This diversifies the call tremendously, and enables the hunter to imitate different ages and sexes of wild turkeys.
Reverse the two elements in the hands. Hold the box in the right hand and scrape it across the striker, held stationary in the left hand. The same movements described in method one will produce like turkey sounds. Be sure to try both techniques - one will fit you better than the other.
